Hello and welcome to my blog! You’re currently reading my FIRST BLOG POST… how exciting is that?!
Ok, so you’re not jumping out of your chair just yet. Give it time.
Anyways, thank you for taking interest in what I have to write. This is something I’ve been wanting to do for quite a long time now, but never really knew what to write about. Then it hit me, just write about myself! Duh! 😛
My intentions for this blog are to motivate and inspire readers (you) to go after your dreams and to follow your own intuitions.
This blog will also be a so-called online journal, that will be used to sort through my own thoughts and analyze how I’ve been handling changes in my life.
Even though it’s a little scary and uncomfortable, I’m hoping that opening myself up to the world will release all the fears inside me so that I can just “be.”
In order to grow, you gotta get past the fear and get uncomfortable. The magic only happens when you get outside your comfort zone.
Personally, there were countless times in my life where I was scared of taking a leap of faith to do something I knew I was passionate about. But, when you really think about it, why would you ever be scared of anything you love?
Maybe it’s because when you truly love something, you open up your entire self and bare the very essence of your soul. All of your guards are down and all that’s left is complete honesty. With honesty, comes vulnerability, and this, in itself, can leave you an open target for potential pain. And who truly wants to feel pain? This is why, I believe, most of us would rather stay “comfortable” and not stray too far from the middle ground.
If you don’t want to get uncomfortable, for fear of rejection, failing and feeling pain, then you are only half-living. Do you want to go through your entire life not knowing your full potential and not being TRULY happy?
On the flip side, what if you allowed yourself to be uncomfortable for a period of time and after that period of time had passed, the pain subsided and you were able to succeed? By succeed I mean, you got what you wanted! What you worked hard for. And when you have what you want because of the hard work you put in to get it, you are that much happier, as well as confident!
So yes, there’s a price you pay to get what you want sometimes, but the question you must always ask yourself is, how bad do you really want this thing? Is it worth paying the price to get there, no matter how many times you fail and no matter how long it takes?
Or, would you rather just stay where you are and never know what it feels like to be at that optimal level of happiness? I’m guessing that would leave you somewhere in the field of always being UNHAPPY and that sounds pretty painful to me. Getting uncomfortable is starting to make a little more sense now, right?
I believe fear is just this illusion we create in our own minds. It is manifested inside us to test how strong we are. What is the benefit of allowing fear to hold you back? Can we overcome fear and get out of our own way? When you get out of your own way, anything is possible!
