I consider this to be a personal development/self discovery "lifestyle blog" that shares the experiences, struggles and discoveries of my personal entrepreneurial journey.
I want to be a self-made success, be able to work from anywhere, work by myself, and live life on my own terms, so I'm teaching myself how to create passive income through blogging and online businesses. I'm blazing my own trail towards less stress, more time freedom and ultimately my dream lifestyle.
I hope by being positive, yet transparent about my own experiences and struggles, I can empower and motivate others to also go after everything they want, stay true to their selves, improve their lives and ultimately find true happiness!
MY DREAM LIFESTYLE =
TO BE SELF-EMPLOYED IN A CREATIVE FIELD.
TO ABSOLUTELY LOVE WHAT I DO.

My Other Niche Blogs
I've also created a few other niche blogs that are spin-offs from topics that were doing well on this blog (a great way to monetize quicker and in a bigger way!) Feel free to check them out for inspiration!
How This Blog Started
I started this blog in June of 2014 as a sort of "self-therapy" outlet.
I had been struggling with a massive amount of stress, for about 2 years straight, and felt like I was stuck on an emotional rollercoaster ride, unable to jump off.
I needed some kind of therapy, yet I didn't want to spend a lot of money (money that I didn't have,) on a therapist, nor did I really want to put in the time to search for one who would just "get" me. I also didn't want to keep talking to my friends and family about the same negative stuff over and over again. I felt like I was constantly emanating toxic vibes and the last thing I wanted to do was burden anyone I cared about with that kind of energy.
I knew that writing had always been a good creative outlet for me and so I figured if I had a place where I could vent and write everything out, maybe it could help me process everything better.
I always felt like I was meant to have a blog of some sort, yet I never knew what topic I could write a lot about. I realized this was probably the perfect opportunity for me to get me started with blogging because I definitely had a lot of thoughts, feelings and emotions going on inside of me, just waiting to be unleashed.
However, before I wrote my first blog post, I decided that I didn't want the overall feel of my blog to sound too negative or angry, but be more motivational and inspiring. My goal was to put a positive spin on all the shitty things that had happened, in order to help give myself, as well as my readers, a sense of hope. My hope was that by writing all this stuff out, I would be able to process and understand everything better, and, in turn, it would help me rise above the anger and resentment and become a better person overall.
How This Blog Has Helped Me So Far
This blog has become one of the best things I could have done for myself!
It's helped me organize and process a lot of my negative thoughts, which, in turn, has helped me work through a lot of my own personal struggles and without having to go to therapy (not that that's a bad thing, I just personally didn't want to pay for it.) I now feel like I'm in much more control of my life, which gives me a sense of inner peace. 🙂
It's also helped me practice my blogging, marketing, writing, and SEO skills and, in turn, has helped me majorly monetize it! In just over three year's time (as of October 2017) I've made over $145,000 of passive income! And the most unbelievable part?! I was able to do this without ads, without having a consistent blogging schedule, and with less than 100 blog subscribers.
And finally, it's helped me realize what I believe is my calling. Blogging is something I've discovered I'm naturally pretty good at, as well as passionate about, so I plan to work harder on it in order to make it more of a full-time income and earn the kind of passive income I need in order to live the lifestyle of my dreams!

ABOUT THE RE-BRAND OF MY DESIGN + MARKETING BUSINESS
During the first half of 2017, I decided to completely re-brand my design and marketing business so that I could focus more on helping ambitious women create and elevate their own dream business.
During the first few years in business, my goal was to provide custom design services at cheap prices for any local small business, entrepreneur or start-up. I simply wanted people to walk away with something amazing and to feel like they just got a great deal.
I would do any kind of random design job (even things I didn’t know how to do/like to do,) for cheap and for anyone who contacted me, simply because I felt like I was lucky enough just to have someone want to work with me! I only accepted those projects because, frankly, I was desperate. I desperately needed money to pay my bills.
There were a few problems with this: I was getting lower-quality clients who demanded more of me, yet paid me less and usually not on time. Also, they never really seemed to appreciate my ideas or my work, which really sucked after working my ass off for them.
Talk about draining and selling myself short.
So with the financial support from this blog (as well as my other niche blogs) I decided to stop doing all client work at the end of 2016 and took some time off to do some self-reflecting and soul-searching. I needed to work on gaining some clarity on what I truly wanted to be doing and who I truly wanted to be helping.
I knew I could create (and desperately wanted to create) quality work that went above and beyond people’s expectations (because that’s just how I roll,) but I needed to work on projects I actually liked doing and naturally excelled at.
I also knew that because of this, I deserved more. More money, better clients, happier experiences and to make a bigger impact!
During the first half of 2017, I realized that I didn’t want to stop designing or being creative, as that was my true passion, but I did want to do work that was more fulfilling. Something that was bigger and more impactful.
So, as I've learned through all of my experiences, I knew my next step was to define my target audience.
I started by writing down exactly what I imagined my dream client to be like, which included things like their age, gender, marital status, current occupation, income level, personality, philosophies they live by, dreams or fears they have, their interests and their pain points.
Then I did some reflecting on all of my past experiences and things I’ve learned through my multiple businesses.
Some factors I put into consideration:
- As an introvert, I crave deeper connections with people, people I can relate to
- I prefer quality over quantity
- I don’t like doing small, random projects for strangers because it doesn’t feel fulfilling for me. When I don’t know someone, it’s harder for me to understand their personality and style and therefore it takes more work and time to create what they are looking for, which can be really frustrating
- I like working with women because, naturally, I can relate to them better, which makes our work process flow better
- My style has more of a feminine nature to it
After reflecting on all of these things, I realized that the type of people I truly enjoy connecting and collaborating with are other aspiring female entrepreneurs and bloggers who are chasing their own dreams and doing whatever it takes to create a business for themselves that makes them feel happy and totally fulfilled!
And so I spent most of 2017 rebranding my design and marketing business for my dream audience and clientele:
Ambitious ladies who had tons of ideas, drive and motivation, who had similar dreams of creating more freedom and flexibility in their life, but who felt lost in the whole process of creating and building a business.
My new goal was to create the thing I had always wished for from the beginning:
A design and marketing resource to help ambitious women create + elevate their dream business.
I also remember feeling very lonely during my entrepreneurial journey and always wanted to be able to find more like-minded female entrepreneurs to provide support and guidance where I needed it. So I decided to create that, too (see Ambitious Unicorns.)
My new vision going forward is to catalogue all of the things I’ve learned about design, marketing, business and blogging over the past few years and have my whole site become a resource for female entrepreneurs and bloggers, to help them feel more confident and empowered to rise up and create successful businesses or blogs around their passions.
